EMS EXCHANGE PROGRAM Print this page
The EMS Exchange Program began in 1996 from a simple request from a paramedic in Kassel German via the VAVRS Website. The medic asked if we they knew of a way, he could come to the United States to study our EMS operations. This request sparked the interest of the members of the VAVRS, and soon contacts were made, plans discussed and the exchange program was formed. Now a well-respected program, the exchange is opening the door of opportunity to EMS personnel in both the United States and abroad. It is the members of the VAVRS who continue the interest and support of the program and help to keep it an intricate part of the programs offered by the VAVRS to its members.
With that brief explanation, Powhatan Volunteer Rescue is proud to announce that Jane LaVerne, a Life Member of Powhatan Volunteer Rescue, has been selected by VAVRS to participate in this year's EMS Exchange Program. Jane will be traveling to Kassel Germany on May 8th through May 24, 2009 with Suzanne Broccolo, Chancellor Vol Fire & Rescue; Jean Helmandollar, Rockhill Vol Rescue Squad and Jame Vitaletti, Rockhill Vol Rescue Squad.
Please join us in congratulating Jane on her selection and wishing her a safe trip!
