During the last meeting, there was some confusion on some of the protocols for EMT-B providers. Just to clarify.
Nitro - Powhatan does not have a separate protocol for administering nitro. EMT-B'S should follow state protocols. i.e. You can assist the patient in administering their own nitro after calling medical control.
Albuterol treatments- EMT-B's can administer breathing treatments only if they have been trained and precepted by an ALS provider. -- The protocols are listed on the PVRS website. Please contact one of the ALS providers if you need to be precepted on this, and make sure the ALS provider provides verification for your file.
Finally, I am doing another toughbook training on Sunday February 21st at 4:00 pm. We can train 7 at one time. If you would like to take part in that class please call me at 514-6922.
Thanks,
Gil Hughes
